Anita Meyer, 87, Owatonna

Anita Meyer passed on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis.
She was born March 17, 1935, in Minneapolis. A "Nordeast Polish Girl" raised by her proud and loving parents John and Anna Maslowski.
She married her husband and lifelong love, James Quinn Meyer, on Dec. 30, 1961, and was his queen for 48 years until he passed on Oct. 27, 2009. During this time, they adopted a devoted son, John Quinn Meyer, who entered their lives on March 13, 1967.
Anita was trained both formally and informally in the clothing design industry, which brought her to New York City and then back to Minneapolis.
In 1970, she moved to Owatonna with her two loved ones, the “Quinns.”
While born under the water sign of Pisces, her passion was the earth. Creating delicious meals for many over the years of what the earth produced and putting into the earth the seeds that produced decades of beautiful gardens. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Owatonna Arts Center in her later years.
Her Celebration of Life will be at the Owatonna Arts Center on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 2-6 p.m. Private burial to precede at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Anita was known for her style, class and devotion to her family and friends. She is survived by her best friend/adoring son John Quinn Meyer.
